Kimono bath robes have a modern design with ancient Japanese roots. The kimono style is characterized by a flat collar that runs along the inside edge of the bath robes. This style stands in sharp contrast to the shawl collar style which is folded back to form a thick collar.
Within the kimono style, we offer three finishes: Terry, Velour, and Waffle Weave.
The "Terry" finish is made with terry loops which remain uncut. This gives the robes a terrycloth look.
The "Velour" finish is also made with terry loops, but the loops have been sheared (cut) leaving a short, soft stubble. This gives the robes a cleaner, more modern look.
The "Waffle Weave" finish is not made with terry loops at all. Instead, it's made with a woven, dimpled fabric in a honeycomb pattern. This gives the robes a younger, more casual look.
